Mr. Dipak Gupta, B.E. (Electronics), PGDM-IIM, Ahmedabad, is the Joint Managing Director of the Bank and has around three decades of experience in the financial services sector, more than two decades of which have been with the Kotak Group. He is responsible for Group HR, administration, infrastructure, operations and IT. He is also responsible for asset reconstruction business of the Bank. Mr. Dipak Gupta was responsible for leading the Kotak Group initiatives into the banking arena. He was the Executive Director of Kotak Mahindra Prime Limited. Prior to joining the Kotak Group, he was with A. F. Ferguson & Company for approximately six years.
KVS Manian has a total experience of over three decades across diverse areas like Financial Accounting and Control, Management Accounting, Project Management, Operations, Investment Banking, Corporate Banking, and Retail Banking. He is presently the Director of Kotak Bank. In his 19 year stint with the Kotak Mahindra group, he has been instrumental in metamorphosing many business divisions into a success story. He took on the mantle of leadership of the branch banking since its inception of the business at Kotak Mahindra group, in 2003 - the year in which for the first time India witnessed a Non- Banking Finance Company become a bank. Later in 2010, he assumed responsibility for the entire Consumer Banking Business for the Kotak group. A dynamic leader, Manian ably steered the bank from its founding of a single branch to over 600 branches across the country in a span of 11 years. He played a pivotal role in the design and implementation of customer-focused products and services in the bank.
An engineer and Cost and Works Accountant, Manian completed his post-graduation in Finance Management from Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies, Mumbai, in 1984. With his strong business acumen, informal and no-nonsense approach, Manian continues to lead the success story at Kotak Mahindra Bank.
Arvind Kathpalia, President and Group Chief Risk Officer, Kotak Mahindra Bank Limited, has been with the group for over a decade. He is also the convener of RMC, member of ALCO, Credit Committee, FTAC, and the New Products Approval Group. Arvind is part of the Bank’s Executive Board that drives and oversees the Kotak Mahindra Group’s growth charter. Arvind holds overall responsibility for Integrated Risk Management across the Group and enables the organization to maximize value by embedding common Risk Management systems and framework. He is also responsible for ensuring that the Bank is Basel compliant. Arvind joined Kotak in 2003 as Group Head – Operations, Technology and Finance. In this role, he built a robust platform for the Organized Trading Facility (OTF) functions which led to the Bank winning 14 IT Awards including the “IT team of the Year” for three consecutive years. Prior to joining Kotak, Arvind held several leadership positions both in India and overseas with ANZ Grindlays and Standard Chartered Bank. Arvind is a University Ranker in B.A. (Hons) - Economics from Delhi University and has completed MBA from Faculty of Management Studies (FMS), Delhi with specialization in Marketing & Finance.
Ms. Sujata Guhathakurta is an MBA and Cost Accountant. Ms. Guhathakurta is Senior Executive Vice President & Head Debt Capital Markets at Kotak Mahindra Bank. She is a part of the Kotak Leadership Team. She has over 25 years of work experience, within the Kotak Group, spanning the areas of Bond & Loan Syndication, Structured Products, and Trading in Fixed Income Securities. She has been spearheading efforts of the bank in the space of structuring & syndicating across fixed income products, spanning across Loans, Bonds & Structured Products for the past 10 years. Prior to that, she used to Head the Sales & Trading Desk for the Bank’s Treasury.
Mr. Raghunandan Maluste holds Master’s degree in Business Administration from the Manchester Business School, England, and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales as well as the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. He is also an alumnus of the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay. Mr. Maluste is currently Honorary Secretary & Treasurer, Mumbai First, angel investor. He has worked in India, the United Kingdom and the Gulf as a public accountant, management consultant, journalist, advertising executive, entrepreneur, angel investor, board member of companies, trusts and societies, researcher and consultant in government, investment and private banker. Some of the organizations he has worked with are Coopers & Lybrand (now PriceWaterhouseCoopers), Lintas, the Indian Institute of Public Administration, HSBC, Kotak Mahindra Bank, CRY, Bombay Gymkhana, CSO Partners, Fomento Group, Intellecap-Aavishkar and Zenjoy Limited (Beijing). Apart from speaking regularly at professional, industry and academic, events, Mr. Maluste has presented to Parliament’s Standing Committee on Finance. He has been published in R&D Management (Oxford), World Affairs (New Delhi), Business India (Mumbai), etc.; been interviewed for the press, TV, and radio, and addressed live audiences on three continents.
Mr. Uday Phadke holds a bachelor’s degree in commerce and law from Mumbai University. He is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and the Institute of Company Secretaries of India. Mr. Phadke had been with Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) since 1973. He was President – Finance, legal & financial services sector and a member of the Group Executive Board at M&M & thereafter "Principal Advisor-Finance" at M&M. He retired on 31st August 2015. Mr. Phadke has received CFO awards from various organizations for excellence in different areas of financial management, including an award as Best CFO in the manufacturing sector from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. He was a member of the SEBI Committee on Disclosures and Accounting Standards. He has been Chairman of the Direct Taxes Committee of the Bombay Chamber of Commerce and Industry and was on the Accounting Standards Board of the ICAI. He has also been a member of the National Advisory Committee of Accounting Standards constituted under the Companies Act.
